3DBuilder, Appconnector, Bing Finance, Bing News, Bing Sports, Bing Weather, Fresh Paint, Get started, Microsoft Office Hub, Microsoft Solitaire Collection, Microsoft Sticky Notes, OneNote, OneConnect, People, Skype for Desktop, Alarms, Camera, Maps, Phone, SoundRecorder, XboxApp, Zune Music, Zune Video, Windows communications apps, Minecraft, PowerBI, Network Speed Test, Phone, Messaging, Office Sway, OneConnect, Windows Feedback Hub, Bing Food And Drink, Bing Travel, Bing Health And Fitness, Windows Reading List, Twitter, Pandora, Flipboard, Shazam, CandyCrush, CandyCrushSoda, King apps, iHeartRadio, Netflix, DrawboardPDF, PicsArt-PhotoStudio, FarmVille 2 Country Escape, TuneInRadio, Asphalt8, NYT Crossword, CyberLink MediaSuite Essentials, Facebook, Royal Revolt 2, Caesars Slots Free Casino, March of Empires, Phototastic Collage, Autodesk SketchBook, Duolingo, EclipseManager, ActiproSoftware, BioEnrollment, Windows Feedback, Xbox Game CallableUI, Xbox Identity Provider, and ContactSupport.

It also optionally removes OneDrive, and a few other things (you're prompted for those items).

My Win10 Pro VM is noticeably faster after trying this.  YMMV

Thanks AIR!

I'll give it a try on my new laptop.

Does it stop Mirosoft from spamming me with special offers?   :o

What version of W10 are you under, John?

I'm not a dedicated W10 user yet. I'm staying with my good old W7 for at least one more year till MS drops its support entirely, and then I plan on shifting to W10 as there will be simply no more choice. Yet I have a W10 Pro installed on one of my boxes that I'm using for compatibility tests mainly when Patrice reports my code failing on his W10 laptops. I've had this installation for over two years now, and I must say I've never experienced any sort of intrusion on behalf of MS. W10's update service just runs in the background transparently 24/7 and I'm just prompted from time to time if I'd prefer to install the updates right away or at some later point in time. And that's how W10 is supposed to work strategically keeping the system in the most up-to-date state not interfering with the user's activities.

I'm seeing nothing that I'd qualify as spam, and after 2 years of running it in such a "gentle" mode it's still blazing fast to start compared to my W7 workhorse that's overloaded with various auto-update services from innumerous pieces of programming and 3D dev software that I use on a day-to-day basis.

Be prepared for the W10 updates to revert many of your custom settings back to their initial states because MS have their own idea of how their product should work on the end user's boxes. :)

I would still be doing Win7 if VB6 and VS2008 didn't run on Win10. (with current controls and theming)

I'm glad I got here sooner rather than later.

AIR,

I gave this a try and the Powershell script hung after removing OneDrive. (Reporting errors with processes following)

It seems to reboot okay with most of the crap now gone from my start menu.

Windows 10 Home - 1803

I just checked Windows Update and 1809 is available.

With the new laptop and my dev environment running on 10, I'm starting to feel better about Windows for another round.

I solved the Microsoft Rewards spam by unsubscribing to the newsletter I didn't subscribe to.
