FreeBASIC Linux 64
« on: May 10, 2011, 06:25:46 PM »
I was happy to hear that a new release for FreeBASIC was available but hit the wall when I tried to installed it as a 64 bit Linux Basic compiler. I'm running Ubuntu 11.04 64 bit and the .deb being offered for 64 bit is actually the 32 bit Linux version. It required that I install a 32 bit emulation library which wasn't compatible with what I'm running.

As it turns out, I only needed FB running under Wine to support the OxygenBasic JIT compiler. Here are a few FB GUI examples I compiled under Wine on Ubuntu 64.

Good News!

Paul's FireFly for FreeBASIC works great under Wine.
